Saar Harari’s FAME Premieres

NYC Cohort I Fellow Saar Harari and LeeSaar the Company are debuting their new work as part of Peak Performances. In the world premiere of FAME, an international company of six performers will strive to reach moments of fame as viewed through numerous pop culture filters and reference points. Utilizing an extremely physical and sensual performance style, truths are told and fragile secrets revealed as the audience strives to interpret the difference between what is seen… and what is perceived.

The Debate Society in North Carolina!

Brooklyn-based theatre company The Debate Society will be performing Hannah Bos’s play Cape Disappointment at Manbites Dog Theater this spring.

“You’re lost in a drive-in movie. Broken down by the side of the road to nowhere. There’s a thirty ought six pointed at your back, and you ate the last can of beans three days ago. Welcome to Cape Disappointment. At least it’s not Detroit.”

Tickets go on sale February 27.

Netta Yerushalmy and Saar Harari at 92Y

As part of APAP (American Performing Arts Presenters), Netta Yerushalmy (NYC Cohort II) and Saar Harari (NYC Cohort I) will both be performing in Out of Israel at the 92nd Street Y.

Friday, January 6, 12pm – Featuring works by Neta Dance Company, Michal Samama, Netta Yerushalmy, Lior Shneior, LeeSaar/The Company and other guest artists.

Saturday, January 7, 3pm – featuring Neta Dance Company, Michal Samama, Netta Yerushalmy, Lior Shneior and LeeSaar/The Company. Each company will present the full length version of excerpts presented on Friday’s program.

Alina Bliumis Exhibition – Foreign Bodies

Alina and Jeff Bliumis are part of a group exhibition at Set Gallery in Gowanus (Brooklyn). Each artist in this exhibition is evoking a body or a stand in for the body, and the bodies on view are ethnic, distorted, chaotic, ambiguously gendered. But each artist examines the body through his or her own lens.

The show also features work by Vydavy Sindikat, Yevgeniya Baras, and Irina Danilova. .

Opening reception will be Saturday, January 7, 2012 from 7-9pm at the Gallery, with an after-party at Barbes (376 9th Street)

Sway Machinery Third Night of Light

In honor of the Hanukkah, Leviticus Studio is hosting a Jewish Art Week. The night will involve art reception in a festive spirit, candle lighting and performance by Sway Machinery. Decorate a giant menorah built by Leviticus, eat a doughnut, and enjoy awesome music. $8 includes one free drink.
