Dan Fishback’s The Material World

Tuesday, June 26th, 2012

Cohort I Fellow Dan Fishback’s musical The Material World asks a hard question: what happens when you put Madonna and Britney Spears into the same house with a family of socialist Jews from the 1920s? Will they spark a global anti-capitalist revolution? Will Madonna use secret Kabbalistic codes to harness the power of God and fix everything wrong with the universe? To get the answer, be sure to see the show at Dixon Place!

“In that better, smarter world, perhaps, thoughtful musicals like this one would be on Broadway.” Check out the fantastic review in the Village Voice!

Corrie’s Work Featured in Collaborative Show at the Torrance Art Museum

Tuesday, June 26th, 2012

“Blank Land” is collaborative show exploring urban identity crises, sacrifice, and heroism through the lens of mythology and American values. It is open Saturday, June 30, 2012 6:00pm until 9:00pm.

The show features the work of over fifty artists, including fellow Corrie Siegel!

Oh Nancy is an national art collective that provides a vehicle for artists — presenting them with a narrative structure that facilitates collaboration and multiple-authorship. Using contradiction, symbolism, and coincidence histories are created and layered– anchored in this narrative blueprint. The story is a mythical and satirical portrait of Americana that examines fanaticism and the complexities of the American hero. Artists respond to different facets of the story, organically building it along the way, each exhibition the latest chapter in an ever growing epic.

Oh Nancy was created and is directed by Arthur Henderson, Nathan Wellman and Fionn McCabe.

The “Blank Land” is also open for viewing on Tuesday, from 11:00am to 5:00pm
